Ah really, that's why you went. Great to know Ennis was such a great part too. Heath truly morphed into that part!!!

I admire him for at such a time in the history of that country at that time period that Jack was willing to stand up say "Damn it, I love a man, that's how it is!" and not let his dream die. It got killed But he gave it his all, he had the determination and persevernce... he ...well I cannot say enough good about Jack Nasty

I had to vote for Jack. I mean, sure he stated that he couldn't live off a few high altitute fucks once or twice a year, which pretty much symbolized his reason of being their for sex..But he shows such emotion when he's with Ennis that it's like really deep, and Ennis tends to struggle with his emotions and such..I really think Jack is better.

I voted for Alma because I loev that character. I like Jack and Ennis, I just couldn't decide which. Alma is this mysterious character that we don't know much about.

I'm sorry I really can't choose between them. I think that both of them were excellent (couldn't you have a choice of Ennis, Jack, or both LOL) It's hard to choose cause I like both of them for different reasons. I like Jack cause he was willing to take a chance on love (Look where it got him ) He was willing to take any chance for love. Ennis, although he was not as ' brave ' as Jack the last line in the movie was the most heartbreaking "Jack I swear" IMO at that moment he knew what he had truly lost/given up. You could also tell that he was just as in love with Jack, but it's that whole Nature vs Nurture thing. He was taught and saw what happened to two men that lived together. Like come on if you saw that when you were 9, how could you ever forget it? As for the actors playing the characters IMO they needed each other, they would not have made as good as movie if they were not as ' bonded ' as they were. I could not see ANY other actors in those roles, that is how you know you have made a good movie/character. I LOVE THEM BOTH

Exactly!! (we studied nature/nurture in advanced biology and it has such a great impact on people/animals/ life!) What he saw, no child should ever see... but it definitely stuck with him and made for a great bring back, or foreshadowing of the future.I can understand you non-vote completely ... I should have put a "both" or "all" option!

i voted for ennis... i actually feel more closed to jack's character but ennis is the real tormented tragic protagonist who will never get out of his own "prison"... i was so touched by the inability to express himself properly and that deep passion with drives him into his own misfortune.... he is sort of that guys you want to redeem *sigh*
oh, i also LOVED alma jr., she is the real faithful sweetheart in the movie and probably the person (exept jack) who understands ennis best...

Hey ysang I agree about AJ I always thought that she turned out to be just like her dad, and I also always thought that deep down she 'knew' about Ennis? Just my theory LOL. Love your insight and reasons for picking Ennis, I do love him and if you watch closely I do think that the 'audience' does get to see (sometimes) how much he REALLY cares for Jack. I just wish he would have shown him

yeah that's sth so said if you aren't able to make sth out of the things you get... "i swear" is going in that direction i think and it's soo sad because it's too late... i also thought that alma knows... she understands her farther so well and i think that is why she is so happy when he says he will attend her wedding...

I LOVE THEM BOTH Yeah I don't see how anyone else could have played these two roles any better!! Jake and Heath were the definitive Jack and Ennis!! They both got under the skins of the character they were playing and made them totally believable!!
