LOL, Koka, very well put! I can agree totally with that, however I am on the other side of the fence as a Christian... though there are aspects of my Holy Literature that I do not see eye to eye on... and am VERY open with the officials of my church about! My parents would probably rather I did not speak to my priest of Brokeback Mountain, but actually with him I get some of the best conversation I think love is love, an emotion not to be determined by boundaries but to be set only by the hearts of two people.

I think love is love, an emotion not to be determined by boundaries but to be set only by the hearts of two people. I absolutelly AGREE!!! the thing with me is that I was a 'christian' ( from my 9th to my 14th year- it's kind of a long story, I don't wanna bother you guys with it ) but then I realised how full of shit the church is ( don't want to offend anyone here, just stating my opinion! ). I do believe in Jesus though, I believe he existed, and I think he was a wonderful human beeing, full of love and respect towards others. Jesus spoke of LOVE. and the church just screwed everything up and started...brainwashing people. I mean, we are 'all god's children', right? so why don't gay people appy to this? ah, I don't know, I have a lot of frustrations when it comes to the catholic church ( and to the new pope for that matter ). take harry potter for instance. those books are about the battle between good and evil and what does the pope do? he claims harry potter is a bunch of crap that preches evil and 'destroys the unformed souls of young people'. give me a break! here's the thing when it comes to me and religion- I like buddism a lot but that doesn't mean I'm gonna turn buddhist or anything. I'm just gonna 'take' something, some good things, from that religion, in order to make life easier for myself. same goes for other religions. to me, god is absolut LOVE. I don't buy into the whole 'wrath of god' crap. I mean, the church is basically saying you're gonna go to hell if you don't listen to god's ten commandments! I think that we're all here, on this earth, for the purpose of making experiences and living a happy and fullfilled life ( for the purpose of finding true happiness ). and what sense does life have if I have to fear a 'jealous and vengeful god'? should I spend all my life living in fear? I don't think so. For me, the greatest truth of all is that god is in all of us.

Koka this is amazing! I am sorry I am just that we have the same opinions entirely. The church I go to (for the most part, obviously there are the fire and brimstone attendants that ...well, whatever ) is very open. They want all people of any race/sex/orientation/etc... to come. Never once have I heard a sermon persuading people not to be who they are. I have been told that God / Jesus told different people through many different means and mediums what he wanted them to know. However, it is these people that recorded the messages or talks into the books of the Bible. (definitely could have been mistakes... humans are humans... and it was not written in English/French/Spanish/Croatian to begin with.... translations are not always the easiest of things to keep all content intact.) But beyond that speculation, I am an interpretive reader. I do not take anything nor anyone for face value or first impression. You must truly get to know a person, or in this case a text to be able to judge it. I am not there yet. I have read through the entire Bible, yes. But I certainly interpret the not marrying or having lustful thoughts for someone of your same orientation differently than most... than the majority of the church. And I am not an easily persuadable person... lol, (hard to believe? ) if I have my mind set to something I will stand up for it, fight for it... I will not be quiet. (If that answered anything, I do not know!)

I just have to say I am Catholic and my religion is very confusing. They say if you love someone, marry them. But if you are homosexual you are a sinner. What if you love someone? They say abortion is bad. What if your child inside you is killing you?
In almost every way I don't understand my religion. That is why I don't go.

Yes the abortion issue....
Well I for one am against it but it is not to do with my religion at all. I myself was meant to be aborted before I was born. My mum did not know she was pregnant with me and got very ill and the doctors took every precaution to make her well, and that was via strong, strong medications. Later it was found out she was with child -me. They (doctors) said I could be born without limbs... brain damage... paralyzed, every wild and crazy horrid ailment that no mum should ever have to ponder.
And everyone said for her to have an abortion. Straight from the doctors through to all of her friends and every member of my family. They said that would be less painful. And yet my mum had faith that if she was to carry me she would, and if I died, I would... and if not she would have another baby. She did....

WOW! That is an amazing story. I know no one who has anything to do with abortion. I guess my little neighborhood is lucky.

when it comes to abortion, I don't think it should be forbidden by law. here's the thing- it's a woman's body and every woman should have the right to decide what to do with it. I mean, take a case such as this for say- an 11 or 12 year old gets rapped and gets pregnant! what then? first of all, she herself is still a child, secondly, the father of the child is a rappist plus she is still very young and thus physically still not evolved enough to give birth. So I dunno, when I think about abortion, cases like this always come to mind. but I myself would never abort a child.

Oh definitely, the cases of rape or insest I am for the woman's choice. In all regards I am for the woman's choice... but as for me, I would never.. could never do that

Yes, and in your mother's case Kelley. Was she real sick when she had you?
If a baby makes a mother sick and the mother is going to die before she gives birth are you going to let two people die or just one?

If it were me personally, I could not let my baby die no matter what the circumstance, I would not be able to live with myself having done that. But I respect entirely if other people choose otherwise Not when she had me, no. She was sick right when she first got pregnant
