I got in a semi.... how do you say, confrontation? With my English teacher. (not Kelley ) about why we had to read The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne (which in the end I did like, but that is beside the point) when I was desperate to read In Cold Blood. She told me that it was " a bit too gory for our school's curriculum" As if Witch Hunts and Guillotines are a lighter subject?! Beside the point, I adore In Cold Blood and the film Capote is no let down either! In Cold Blood chonicals the lives and murder of a Kansas family in the early 1960s.
